Family Ministries
For years, Northminster had a Christian Ed committee. In 2023, we relaunched that committed as the Family Ministries Committee. We realized that a lot of our ministry was very family oriented. We wanted to do more to encourage multiple generations to gather and grow together. At the same time, we try to find special events and groups for people in similar life
Wonderful Wednesdays
This pot-luck Bible study is always a multigenerational event hymns). We are a group of people just trying to experience God in our lives and respond to God’s leading.
Sunday Schools
We have a variety of Sunday school classes that meet throughout the church. The groups each have their own personalities and each class works a little different
Family Nights
We do family nights where people from the church family come together for some fun. We do a Fall Festival that includes pumpkin carving or a chili cookoff. The Yuletide Shindig is our family Christmas party with a ginger bread house contest. At each event, we have snacks, make a craft, and just have fun together
The Ladies Tea
This is a fun time for women of the church of all ages. It normally happens during the Sunday school hour a week or two before Mother’s Day.
Men’s Huddle
This men’s group meets for community and study.
Presbyterian Women
We have an active group of Presbyterian Women that meet for study about once a month. These women also connect with other Presbyterian Women groups at time.
Women’s Luncheon
A group of women from the church goes out to eat for lunch once a month. It is a good time of fellowship.
Dinners for 8
We occasionally organize dinners for people in the church who would like to participate. A house volunteers to host and people are assigned to the group. For several months, the groups vary so you have dinner with different people each month.
Marriage Care
We are building more opportunities for married couples. We hope to develop this more and more in the future.
