One of the things that many of us at Northminster have in common is that we like to travel. So, we thought, why don’t we travel together? It started with a trip to Israel in 2020 and has turned into several different trips. We have visited the Ark Encounter, the Creation Museum, the Flight 93 Memorial, and Falling Water. We have found we like an annual trip to the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, PA.
The big deal for us is that we don’t just travel for fun. We want to learn and grow in our faith. We see travel like the ancient idea of a Pilgrimage—where you travel to Jerusalem or some holy site in order to find God, and maybe yourself too.
Before we go on the trip, Pastor Jordan preps the group with lessons and Bible studies. So, before we saw a play about Moses, we studied the life of Moses. Along the trip, Jordan continues to teach and answer questions. We really engage in the topic. Then we debrief the experience afterwards.
