Jordan Rimmer is the lead pastor at Northminster Church in New Castle, PA. In his preaching, caring, and leading the church, Jordan longs to help people experience, acknowledge, and respond to God in everything. His passion is bringing the story of God to life in the lives of Jesus followers today.
Jordan has a Doctor of Ministry through Portland Seminary of George Fox University in Semiotics and Future Studies. There he studied under author and futurist Leonard Sweet to consider how to “read the signs of the times” and know what the church should do. (1 Chron 12:32) Jordan also has a degree in sociology from Grove City College and a Masters of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
Jordan is ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Before coming to Northminster in 2018, Jordan was the pastor at Westminster Presbyterian Church in New Brighton, PA. He began his ministry as the director of outreach and youth ministries at Glenwood United Methodist Church in Erie, PA.
Prior to going into ministry, Jordan was the Director of the Leadership and Education Institute in Erie, PA. This company focused on leadership development, team building, and character development. They worked with other companies, athletic teams, teachers, school kids, and at-risk youth. They used experiential methods including a ropes course and Alpine Tower, a rock wall, portable activities, school field trips, and even gourmet cooking. Jordan continues to do consulting, staff training, and writing in the area of experiential education.
In addition, Jordan speaks at various workshops and training events on a wide range of church-related topics such as leadership, stewardship, resilience, Christian facilitation, and turn-around churches. He has also done consulting work and leads retreats.
In 2004, Jordan married his wife Mandy. They have four children Jayden, Morgan, Colvin, and Eden. They have two dogs, several frogs, and several other critters.
